Melanie Hill
Melanie is a first-year clinical psychology doctoral student studying the relation of cannabis use to psychosis. She obtained her B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011, where she worked in the Golden Bear Sleep and Mood Research Clinic on RCTs for sleep interventions to prevent relapse in individuals with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. After graduating, Melanie became a research assistant and neuropsychology technician in the Behavioral Neurology department of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, focusing on the neuropsychological profiles of individuals with psychogenic non-epileptic events. Melanie continues to be interested in behavioral and biological mechanisms of psychopathology. She is currently investigating retinal vessel characteristics in college students as a potential mechanism linking cannabis use and psychosis. She hopes to continue this line of research with first-episode psychosis patients in the future
